Job description

We are looking for an experienced accountant for the direct management and oversight of all aspects of our Quick Books accounting system. Weekly payroll processes will also be part of the accountants responsibilities. Tasks include month end close and preparation of monthly financial statements for several business entities and properties within the corporation. We have established experience buying, remodeling, renting and selling homes. We currently have properties in Lee, Charlotte and Sarasota County ranging from single family, duplex, tri plex and multi unit condos as well as beach rentals.

Responsibilities

• Assists in performing all aspects of the daily accounting functions including recording and reporting data. The bulk of your day will be spent handling emails and entering data into Quick Books. You will also be responsible for payroll and on-boarding new employees. You also work with different vendors on an as needed basis.
• Performing monthly financial close functions through preparation of financial statements for each entity
• Reconciliation of general ledger accounts
• Preparation of detailed budget, income or expenditure reports
• Evaluating and assessing internal controls and operating results including analysis of budget to actual results; presents cost reduction recommendations to management
• Providing training to non-financial personnel on internal control compliance and accounting procedures

• Maintain a positive, productive relationship with tenants
• Advertise and market vacant spaces to attract tenants
• Collect receivable accounts and handle operating expenses
• Develop and manage budgets and analyze financial results
• Accomplish financial goals and report periodically on financial performance
• AP and AR functions

Skills

• Proven work experience as an accountant
• Fully understanding property management and its financial aspects is a plus
• In depth knowledge of all rules and regulations surrounding property management
• Competency in Quick Books and MS Office
• Customer focus and bottom line orientation
• Interpersonal savvy with strong communication and presentation skills
• Well organized with excellent time management skills
• BS degree in related field

Requirements:

• 2 - 3 Years Accounting experience
• Bachelors degree in Accounting
• CPA is a plus
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple priorities
• Ability to juggle multiple deadlines and contact with employees in calm and professional manner
• Experience working with payroll systems
