Overview:

The music teacher must have a genuine and obvious love for children, as the music teacher is responsible for working with teachers, students, and parents in preschool and elementary schools. H/She is responsible for teaching the Mr. Nigel’s Music curriculum and is required to execute the program with high energy, fun, and enthusiasm. It is preferred that the music teacher is able to play a musical instrument (if not, training is provided). The music teacher may also be responsible for planning and orchestrating various celebrations throughout the school year. Examples include: Back to School night, promotional demonstrations, winter celebrations, and graduations. The music teacher must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The music teacher is expected to attend staff meetings and training sessions.

Responsibilities:

• Compliance with the guiding principles for Teacher Evaluation

• Promote and advance the cognitive, emotional, social and physical well being of the students during music.

• Deliver the curriculum in a fun, loving, and highly energetic manner.

• Preparing and teaching music for assigned classes.

• Planning and helping organize additional activities such as Back to School night, promotional demonstrations, winter celebrations, and graduations.

• Maintaining a positive rapport with assigned schools.

• Communicating regularly with classroom teachers about their students and how things are going in music and providing timely feedback to The Edutainment Group as necessary.

• Being available, if necessary, to discuss the music program with parents.

• Participate in The Edutainment Group / Mr. Nigel’s Music evaluation process by developing goals and self-assessing.
