Boulder Community Health is seeking a Patient Care Associate / Certified Nursing Assistant, where you will serve as a dedicated patient caregiver. Within our care delivery system, the PCA/CNA performs duties that assist the caregivers and promotes effective departmental functioning. Direct patient care functions are under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN). CNA certification or equivalent certification is preferred. Equivalent certifications include: EMT, MA, Military Medic or completion of 1st year of nursing core classes (not prerequisites for nursing school). BLS certification required within conditional period. Responsibilities Answers patient call lights and performs appropriate follow-up in a timely manner. Performs morning and evening ADLs (oral care, bathing, etc.). Assists staff with repositioning and patient mobility. Independently mobilizes patients. Empties foley catheters, urinals, bedpans, commodes, urine hats and drains Assists in preparation of patient rooms and admission and transfers. Follows patient fluid restrictions and calorie count orders as delegated by nurse.
