Bulwarks Granite mining and production as part of its building materials solution involves the extraction and processing of granite stone. Granite is a type of igneous rock that is commonly used in construction and decoration. The process of granite mining involves the use of heavy machinery to extract large blocks of granite from the earth’s crust. These blocks are then transported to processing plants where they are cut into slabs and polished for use in construction projects such as countertops, flooring, and walls.

Granite mining and production is an important industry that provides employment opportunities and contributes to economic growth in Nigeria. Bulwark holds lease rights to a quarry, representing a total of over 30 million cubic meters (M3) of grey and ivory coloured Granite Rock. The Bulwark mining operations is located at Etsako east Edo State in Nigeria, under a long-term lease which is on 400,000 square metres of land, with a wall of rock of about 25 metres tall (reserves estimated at about 30 million M3 of Granite Rock, which will take c100 years to mine).

The company aims to add two additional mining locations in Abuja and Ogun States of similar in size in 3-5 years. The quarry operations are not only strategically significant to Bulwarks construction business (supply of crushed aggregates/stones), but also positions the Company to meet the massive need for cut & polished (processed) granite in Nigeria, where currently most of the processed granite is imported.
